To celebrate Peace Day, 21st Sept 2015, the inaugural Cycle for Peace took place from Haslemere to the sea following 45 miles along the Shipwrights Way. This is the beautiful trail along which oak timbers were hauled to construct war ships at Portsmouth in Tudor times.
Today Peace is honoured.
Taking part on the ride was Annie Pritchard and Tess Burrows. They carried sacred items including a stone from Lake Manasarovar in Tibet to give to the ocean, and acorns representing new life for Peace.
The Dalai Lama reminds us that we are each responsible for our own inner Peace to help World Peace.
Let us be mindful of our own thoughts and actions and play our part.
