Members and friends of the Kilimanjaro Peace Climb gathered at the Peace Pagoda in London’s Battersea Park on 5th Aug, to enhance the Olympic spirit of all nations coming together in peace.

They spoke out the Peace Messages which had been collected from each and every one of the world’s nations (plus a few dodgy ones not universally recognised). These had already been sent out from Mt Kilimanjaro on UN Peace Day 2011 along with thousands of others from individuals.  New Messages were also spoken out at the Peace Pagoda.

The lighting of the World Peace Flame amplified the light that Britain shines for the world at this time, that all people may be brothers.

The blowing of the conch horn heralded that we can each one play our part.

The peace-tyre (Amani- meaning peace in Swahili) which had been pulled up Kilimanjaro and also five Olympic ring tyres were dragged through the streets of London along the RiverThames to the Pagoda, symbolising the effort needed for peace and harmony, both of humanity and our Earth. (No-one was run over in the process!)

Are all people brothers?
