During our expedition to Mount Olympus our team focused on leaving NO WASTE:-
Refusing any plastic bottles or cups - using our own filter bottles and containers
Re-using all plastic bags (for carrying food etc)
Buying food with no packaging
Pre-making our own supplies (like flapjacks)
Also picking up rubbish found in the wilderness areas...
Yes we faltered often, and were faced with difficult rubbish decisions whilst carrying everything on our backs, but importantly we raised awareness of moment to moment actions that are affecting our beautiful Earth.
It can be done!
